American Heritage Horse Rescue (AHHR) began after AHHR founder suffered a near death accident on the farm where AHHR has started. Founder was told by the surgeon that saved his life after he awakened from a coma on a respirator, that he was given a second chance at life for reasons unexplainable. Founder had suffered a severe TBI to the head. Founder was asked by the surgeon if he believed in “Miracles”.  As a result, the founder for also reasons unexplained decided to dedicate the rest of his life to giving the helpless and those whose cries are unheard, a second chance at life. Founder advises that words cannot describe the appreciation in the eyes of these magnificent creatures when they realize that everything is going to be okay! It is an experience that does a human being good from the inside, and is something that everyone should try to experience in their lifetime.
